Color Wheel Structure: Primary and Secondary Colors
The color wheel consists of 12 main sectors arranged in a circle. Three primary colors (red, blue, yellow) are positioned at equal distances from each other, forming a triangle. These colors cannot be obtained by mixing others — they are fundamental.
Secondary colors (orange, green, purple) are obtained by mixing two primary colors: red + yellow = orange, blue + yellow = green, red + blue = purple. Tertiary colors are formed by mixing primary and secondary colors, creating smooth transitions between circle sectors.
Modern tools like цветовая гармония use mathematical color wheel models to automatically calculate complementary, analogous, and triadic colors.
